Sandra Chapman was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has lived in various parts of Canada. Having resided in British Columbia since 1991, initially on the West Coast and now making her home in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, Sandra is continually inspired by the diversity and beauty of the Canadian landscape. Sandra began to explore her love of painting in 2001 through workshops and as a student in the Fine Arts department of Okanagan University College although she is primarily self-taught.
Sandra’s paintings reflect her interpretation of the relationships she sees in nature. “When I look at trees for example, I see not only the trees, but the spaces between them and the way they relate to each other and other aspects of the landscape. To me, nature mirrors and reflects universally experienced emotions such as joy, passion, solitude, connection and disconnection. I attempt to capture the essence of these relationships in my paintings.” Sandra loves to paint on a larger scale, using bold color and dramatic composition.

Anne-Marie works mainly in her studio in Richmond, B.C. …near the village of Steveston, at a point where a branch of the Fraser River joins the Pacific Ocean. Her painting career spans 30 years…23 years as a watercolourist and the last 7 she has worked primarily in oils. She paints on stretched canvas and on Baltic birch, wood panels ranging in size from 24 inches square up to 84 inches and beyond. Anne-Marie carefully finishes the edges of the panels that are trimmed with kiln-dried, Douglas fir. She sands them smooth and seals the edges with a matte varnish so that the panels may be hung framed or unframed as a finished painting.

Jonn's soulful paintings focus on two vastly different scapes - the prairies and the sea - but they are inherently joined by his inner connection to the unadulterated freedom of open spaces.
Jonn's prairie works delve deep into his own roots and philosophies, reflecting lives, perspectives and memories.
Jonn's passion for space and light, so evident in his prairie images, extend to his ocean paintings. In those, the power of nature is captured with flourishes of drama; often waves engaged in a dangerous dance, spray sparkling in the sunlight. It is that kind of raw expression that creates the sense of awe that has come to define Jonn Einerssen's paintings.
